“Receive the Glory” by Bob Kauflin

Last Sunday we sang a song that is fast becoming one of my favorites. It is a fairly new song by Bob Kauflin of Sovereign Grace Ministries that focuses on the Glory of God. The message is clear and the melody very pleasant. All the elements of the song wonderfully unite to emphasize the single theme. And last Sunday, when we sang the song at the end of John Piper’s message on justification based on Christ’s righteousness alone, the theme couldn’t have been more timely and powerful.

Receive the Glory

Words and Music by Bob Kauflin

Verse One

All that we’ve accomplished You have done for us.
And any fruit we harvest is a gift from Your hand.
We are only jars of clay that hold apriceless treasure,
And we exist to bring You pleasure, O God.

Chorus

Not to us, but to Your name alone,
Be all the glory, the glory, forever.
For Your faithfulness and steadfast love,
Receive the glory. The glory belongs to You.

Verse Two

Only by Your mercy can we come to You.
Though we deserve Your judment, You have called us by name.
So we glory in the cross of Christ that made us Yours forever,
That joined our lives together to sing:

  1. Peter,

    I am glad the link works as this is a great song. {I did the post from my home-based internet access which is dial up, and I didn’t want to wait and see if the link was valid. At work I have broadband access and it is easy to check something like that out.}

    Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Thanks bob. I have “grace unmeasured” which is also one of my favorites. This song certainly is God-glorifying. I may have to buy the whole Worship God CD.

If you right click the link you can DL the song.

  3. Matt,

Thanks for reminding us of that. You can download “Receive the Glory” by right clicking on the link for the free mp3 (see the post above) and selecting “save target as” (or something similar to that). And as Matt aluded to, you can go to Bob Kauflin’s blog and right click on the latest free song in his sidebar, “Grace Unmeasured” and get 2 free songs for your iPod in 1 day.

Of course if you don’t have an iPod, like me, you can play these on your computer and burn them onto an audio CD or something.

I just listened to the “Grace Unmeasured” song, Matt. It sounds really good, too.

    God Bless.
