I thought on this day after Reformation Day, that I’d round up some good reading on some of the Reformers. I’m still planning to do the drawing for my Reformation Week Book Giveaway on Wednesday, and the drawing will take place at approximately noon (Central time) on Wednesday 11/3.
- Justin Taylor has a collection of links and video clips remembering Martin Luther, the great reformer whose 95 Theses were released to the world on October 31, 1517 sparking the Reformation.
- Andrew Suttles reminds us of John Wycliffe, the Morning Star of the Reformation. His ministry prepared the way for Luther and the other Reformers.
- Will Dudding, gives a summary of the life and ministry of the great Scottish Reformer, John Knox.
- Sharper Iron Radio interviews author William Boekestein on his new book about Guido de Bres the lesser known Reformer who also authored the Belgic Confession.
- Back in 2006, I did a post on unity and the example of one of the first Reformers, Ulrich Zwingli— the Reformer with the coolest name.
- July 10, 2009 marked John Calvin‘s 500th birthday and there were many books and blog posts dedicated to his memory. I collected some of those in this post.
- Finally, a few of my previous book reviews introduce you to some books which help highlight the significance of the Reformation:
- Living for God’s Glory an Introduction to Calvinism by Joel Beeke
- A Reformation Reader by Denis Janz (the book you can win in my book giveaway, now through 11/3)
- Getting the Reformation Wrong: Correcting Some Misunderstandings by James Payton Jr.
