Privacy Policy

This is a personal blog run by a private individual in their home. (That’s me, Bob Hayton.) I have no desire to use people’s data in any nefarious way.

My site collects email addresses, urls, and names when a user submits a comment – and you are free to not submit comments. At times, I have used these email addresses as part of a giveaway, which included an entry form. I do not give out email addresses for any purpose, other than during prescribed blog giveaways where a publisher is sending the book to a winner, or for a publisher sponsored giveaway. You are free not to enter such giveaways.

Cookies

As for Cookies, my site uses Cookies as virtually all sites do. WordPress manages most of my blog, and several plugins and stats are facilitated using their software. Visit https://automattic.com/cookies for more information on what Cookies are and how WordPress uses them.

In addition to WordPress, some cookies may be related to the following list of plugins (which power different functions for my site). I am not an expert so am not entirely sure which of the items in the list below use Cookies as part of their function:

  • Statcounter (an alternate site traffic counting method – more info here)
  • Theme related plugins (for iThemes Builder)
  • List Category plugin (for creating nice lists by category – more info here)
  • Extended Comment options plugin (for managing comments – more info here)
  • Find and Replace (for blog updating – more info here)
  • RefTagger (for display of Bible verse, by Logos)
  • Server Buddy (for troubleshooting blog problems – more info here)
  • WordPress Database backup (for automatic blog backups – more info here)
  • WP Touch Mobile (for better display of blog on mobile platforms – more info here)

You can choose to disable cookies if you want using your browser or other means. I am not sure what impact that will have on how the blog displays, but you are free to do that.
