Slow Going

Life’s been moving fast around here. 4 kids, school, a new church plant we’re a part of, work, life, and more stuff. Where does my blogging fit in? I now have two other team blogs I’m a part of: KJV Only? which I started, and Fundamentally Changed, which I’ve been asked to contribute to. I”m also surrounded by stacks of books I’ve promised to review!

So what should I do? I believe trodding forward slowly is the best course of action for now. I still think there are a few unturned stones around here, and some unfinished business. This kind of decision is always begging for the attention of bloggers. When do you call it quits on your blog? When is it’s life over?

I think the KJV Only blog is picking up steam, and that’s where I’ll be blogging more consitently with posts pertaining to fundamentalist concerns. Over here, I’m pretty much focusing on my reviews for now. I also want to finish fleshing out some things. I”d like to pack things up in a tidier fashion and put out some posts examining different issues, and looking at fundamentalism as a whole, etc. I”d like to do more writing, but I think reading and real life take precedence over all that.

My blogging friend Damien, just pulled the plug on his blog. His last post is worth reading. For now, I”m going to keep mine running. But I’ll plan on taking it a bit slower than it was. Hope it remains useful for my readers. I’ll continue my twitter use. On my twitter feed you’ll see lots of blog-worthy links and etc. shared. I just don’t have the time to turn them all into blog posts.

Okay, now that I’ve explained myself, back to real life….

My Story, Take 2

If you’ve tried to wade through my long telling of my story, I pity you! Thanks for taking that time, however. Over the last 4 years many have, and quite a few have dropped a line to let me know they were blessed by it.

Now, for a new group blog of reforming fundamentalists, I have posted a shorter and hopefully more readable story. Eventually I’ll be bringing that edition over to my blog. But for now, go over and check out Fundamentally Changed, and read my story, take 2.

The group blog is led by many of the founders of the Transformed by Grace group site. It is intended to be a single source of relevant and important articles and posts on IFB fundamentalism, from a reforming fundamentalist perspective. I hope to contribute to it from time to time.

Life and Blogging

Sorry about the philosophical title. I’m not throwing in the towel or anything.

I’ve started learning Hebrew this semester with The Bethlehem Institute, my church’s seminary quality training school. So I’ve got lots of homework! Got to lear my Aleph, Beta, and Gimels! You can see my friend Shaun Tabbat, blog about our class on his blog. He’s re-learning it, so I envy him!

For the blog I have many plans. Too many and not enough time. And worse, I don’t have high speed internet at home, and my connection has been quite poor. I’ve finally given in and am going to move up to DSL, so that might help.

I hope to finish the overview pages that you’ll find at all the tabs at the top of the blog. I’d like to finish a few unfinished series around here, and start another. I’m also planning on continuing to include more book reviews and Music Monday posts. I’d also like to work on my family photo blog and move it somewhere, and maybe I’ll revive my currently stalled Mission blog. I’d like to keep it, but I don’t want to use Blogger, and I’m partially moved over to Tumblr.org, but now I’m thinking WordPress might be easier. We’ll see!

Just wanted to give an update on life and blogging. Hopefully posts will be more regular around here again soon.

I'm Famous

I guess I’m famous. Anyone being interviewed is right?

Shaun Tabbat, who also attends Bethlehem Baptist, recently interviewed me. I’ve just recently met Shaun and discovered we have many similar interests. I think you’ll enjoy this little interview. If I can get away with it, I might borrow his concept and start interviewing some of my favorite bloggers (er, Biblio-Bloggers, that is).

Now it’s off to the Minnesota State Fair for the day….
