bookcomputerQuick update on my reading for you all. I recently finished Crossway‘s Worldliness: Resisting the Seduction of a Fallen World edited by CJ Mahaney, and Thomas Nelson‘s The Chronological Study Bible (NKJV). I’m still working my way through P&R Publishing‘s Him We Proclaim: Preaching Christ from All the Scriptures by Dennis Johnson, and Reformation Trust‘s Living for God’s Glory: An Introduction to Calvinism by Joel Beeke.

I hope to have the reviews for the first two books, out this week, as well as some reviews of a couple children’s books. Also, be sure to stay tuned as I’ll be hosting a book giveaway, I have a free copy of The Chronological Study Bible (NKJV) at my disposal.

Life and Blogging

Sorry about the philosophical title. I’m not throwing in the towel or anything.

I’ve started learning Hebrew this semester with The Bethlehem Institute, my church’s seminary quality training school. So I’ve got lots of homework! Got to lear my Aleph, Beta, and Gimels! You can see my friend Shaun Tabbat, blog about our class on his blog. He’s re-learning it, so I envy him!

For the blog I have many plans. Too many and not enough time. And worse, I don’t have high speed internet at home, and my connection has been quite poor. I’ve finally given in and am going to move up to DSL, so that might help.

I hope to finish the overview pages that you’ll find at all the tabs at the top of the blog. I’d like to finish a few unfinished series around here, and start another. I’m also planning on continuing to include more book reviews and Music Monday posts. I’d also like to work on my family photo blog and move it somewhere, and maybe I’ll revive my currently stalled Mission blog. I’d like to keep it, but I don’t want to use Blogger, and I’m partially moved over to Tumblr.org, but now I’m thinking WordPress might be easier. We’ll see!

Just wanted to give an update on life and blogging. Hopefully posts will be more regular around here again soon.

An Update, Another Update, and More Updating

Update 1 — I’ll be traveling a lot the next few weeks and so posting will be infrequent, however I’m taking my laptop with me.

Update 2 — I am not forsaking the blog. I transitioned to another job within my company that has a different schedule, which makes blogging a little harder for me. But I believe I can keep at it, even if my time for reading other blogs goes down, hopefully I’ll be able to focus on some of my own blog projects which need completing.

More Updating — With the new schedule, I am updating some other blogs of mine.

I’m changing Kingdom Surge to focus more on linking to good articles on missions, and in the process I’m converting the blog over to tumblr.com, which should make updating that blog a whole lot simpler. The conversion process will take a while (since I have to manually import each old post), but I’m adding new posts to the blog in the meantime. This deletes my old Huckabee blog, by the way.

And I plan to not forget totally about my KJV Research blog. I recently posted to it for the first time in a while. Speaking of “a while”, it’s been an eternity since I updated my family photo blog. We’ll see about that one…

Well now that you’re up to speed, you can eagerly await my next post. Maybe you can guess when it will appear? I don’t know. Thanks for reading, in any case!
